An appliance used by your orthodontist to help create space in your lower jaw for your permanent teeth. It consists of an archwire that is covered in the front by a piece of molded plastic. In your mouth, it attaches to buccal tubes on your lower molars. Your lips lightly press on the bumper and move your lower molars back.
