Facial harmony or facial balance is considered from both the frontal view of the face as well as the profile view. One of the goals of orthodontic treatment is to achieve balanced facial harmony. That is, a face that is well proportioned and symmetrical. The shape of the nose, the position of the lips, the size of the upper and lower jaws and the vertical growth of the face all can contribute to an imbalance in facial harmony.
