If you swallow part of your orthodontic appliances such as a bracket, band or rubber band, it will pass through your system and be harmless. Please note, if you swallow a part of your braces and have difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical help. Get to the nearest medical facility whether it is Dr. Boyd's office or an emergency room.
