The proper use of your rubber bands is vital for achieving the goals of your orthodontic treatment. There are many different ways to wear rubber bands. Rubber bands come in various sizes and force values. Dr. Boyd will determine when you need to start wearing elastics and explain to you how they should be worn. Elastics have never failed to move teeth. If you wear your elastics well, you may be able to get your braces off sooner than expected! Elastics come in both clear and colors. You can choose which ones you want to wear. Wear only the rubber bands that are given to you by Dr. Boyd. Do not wear rubber bands that belong to your friends! If you swallow a rubber band, do not worry. They are harmless. Please remember that your cooperation with rubber band wear will help get your braces off on time or early.
